How I price bookkeeping
Bookkeeping services are priced on an individual basis, however, I have put together a rough guideline for potential clients. It’s important to understand that not all business ventures fit neatly into these buckets. Before pricing a client’s bookkeeping I take the time to understand their specific bookkeeping concerns and then anticipate future problems as the business grows.
-
For those clients who say, “HELP! my books are a mess!” I offer a cleanup service to go back and address problems due to poor bookkeeping. This service is a flat fee plus an hourly assessment if specific troubleshooting is required. Cleanup starts at $750 and scales with the complexity of the business.
-
For the solo entrepreneur or small business that has never set up QuickBooks, I offer a new company setup service. This is a consultative process involving setting up a basic chart of accounts, linking your banking, linking any business credit cards, setting up the products and services, sales tax settings, vendors, contractors, and other necessary settings. Pricing starts at $550 and scales with the complexity of your business.
-
Sometimes the books just don’t make sense. Transactions can get misclassified or duplicated, income and expenses can be recorded two… or even three times improperly, and automated tools meant to simplify bookkeeping can get things wrong. I have access to advanced troubleshooting methods and a team on standby to help deal with the most complex QuickBooks problems. I charge $110/hour for advanced troubleshooting services.
